Changed Profile

I changed the profile on a computer from Administrator to
my name also with Administrator capability. All the
folders of stored emails were subsquently gone or hidden
in the Administrator profile. I had to resetup my Email
profile under Outlook. Is there a way to find them and
restore? I am missing about a monthes worth of emails.
Thanks

The files are still there - but if you're using NTFS as your file format,
you'll probably need to take ownership of the folder(s) that contained
them - check c:\documents and settings\oldusername permissions in Windows
Explorer....you can take ownership and then re-set the permissions as you
wish.

Since you were using the Administrator account, your PST file will be in
that area {C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator). You can either simply
open it from there or move it to an area in your account and open it.

Thx, lanwench.
the properties on the local disk(c) list the File system
as FAT32. will this make a difference? how do I check
permissions and then change them? this is a little to
advanced for my knowledge.

If you're not using NTFS, there are no permissions to set or reset. You can
just open the old profile folder window and find your PST files
therein....search your c: drive for *.pst.
