Changing the highlight color for editing

How do I change the highlight color when I'm selecting
text to edit?

Let me guess.....are you getting white text on a white background?
Difficult to see what you are editing!

The color of the background when you edit text is determined by the color
scheme

See
Format menu
Color scheme
Custom
Background color

Later versions of powerpoint (2002/xp) don't suffer from this problem
