changing the legend

i figured out how to change the bars and the information in my legend on the
gantt chart but when i do so and hit "ok" it changes all the bars in the
actual gantt chart. why is this and what do i need to do to stop it?

What really do you want to change in the Bar Styles ?
Nb : if you add a new symbol on the first free row under the "standard"
symbols, in the Bar Style dialog, depending on its From... To... parameters,
it may recover all the previous symbols...

I'm very curious. Where are you going to change the legend? The only
way I know to change the legend is to change the Gantt Chart under "Bar
Styles". Of course, when you change the Gantt, the legend is
automatically changed to reflect that. Maybe when you say "legend"
you're referring to the "Bar Styles" dialog box? The legend is what
appears when you print out the Gantt at the bottom of the page. The
"Bar Styles" dialog box is where you go to reformat/customize the
Gantt.

Beyond all that, why would you want the legend to be different than the
Gantt? That's what the legend is supposed to be, the key to understand
the Gantt.
