If I set a timescale other than default, and then use the zoom buttons, the timescale changes back to default. Is there a way to preserve my non-default settings

Hi Soren,
Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup
You can't set the default. However, you can try creating a View. Set the
view as you want it and then View/More views.../Gantt Chart/Copy... give it
a new name/OK/Apply and save your project. Then use the default Gantt Chart
to zoom around and when you want your special view, go to the View menu and
select your special copy. However, don't zoom in your special copy, or if
you do, don't save the project.
