Changing to the Contact list as the email default address list.

I want to change the address book that automatically
comes up when you use the TO field in an email message
from the Global Address List to the Contacts list. Is it
possible and how do I achieve.

Click Tools>Address Book. In the address book window, click Tools>Options.
Change the "Show this address list first" drop-down. Click OK.
