Changing URL in link

I have been given an URL so that I can provide a link from my site (designed
with Publisher 97).

Up to now, I have never had a problem with a link, but for some reason or
other, when I paste this link, the ending of which is

tformdisplay?xr4=&formts=2006-04-18%2019

and then preview my site, the link displays instead as

tformdisplay?xr4=&formts=2006-04-18%252019

I go back to the hyperlink combo box, and the link is pasted correctly, but
when I preview it, it again reads incorrectly - inserting the extra "52"
into the string.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Tkans for replying. I manually typed the URL as suggested but the results
were still the same.

When you preview the site, it has inserted an extra "52" into the string.

When you go back to check the Hyperlink box itself, it is correct, so for
some reason or other, the conversion to HTML inserts "52" into the string.

I have several hundred links on the site and have never come across this
before.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

What happens if instead of typing "%20" you type " " (i.e. Space)?

Hi Mary

Before I trouble you further, let me say that the error must have been mine.

I re-typed the URL several times and each time it resulted in the same
error.

I then deleted my temporary internet files, cleared my history (not because
I know what I am doing, but because it is what I always do when I have a
problem!), and then carefully letter by letter, re-typed the URL.

This time when it converted, it was exactly the same as when I inserted it -
no magic "52"!

My apologies to all - as usual my own fault (although I am not sure why).

Temporary files will retain the information you viewed originally. You probably
would have received the same results by refreshing the page.
I'm glad you resolved your problem. Thanks for posting back your success, It is
always appreciated.

Thanks for everything.

I try to use this excellent service as sparingly as possible, but from day
one, no matter how ignorant my question was - somebody has always come back
to (gently) steer me right.

I put up our site using Publisher 97 back in late 1998, and although I also
now have Publisher03 - I still use 97 to do the site, simply because it has
that wonderful Web Wizard!

I know - things have progressed so much since then, but I unfortunately have
not.

Again tbanks.
