Changing user access based on signin

Hi All,
I am new to FP. I want to create a website that simply displays PDF's
attached to links on the webpage. The challenge is that I want users to have
access only to certain PDF's. For example, I want user 123 to be able to
view only PDF's A, B and C. User 456 should be able to access only PDF's D,
E and F, etc.

Is this something that I can accomplish with FP?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You would need a database driven solution the would have log in on show a specific set of link to a
user based on their access level.

You would need to know what server-side script language and database is supported by your web host
and then you will need to either learn to code this or hire someone to do it for you.

Thomas,

Thanks for your reply.

I have complete control over the web server. I can use Access or SQL
Server. Should I create an Access DB, for example, containing the hyperlinks
to the various PDF's? Then filter the Access records based on a login
directly to the database?

Can you recommend a resource for this sort of Web activity?

Thanks,

Bill T.

Bill,

You can use either Access or SQL. I am not aware of any specific resource for doing this, but you
would basically start by filter the link output based on field within the user table that matches a
field in the PDF table, etc.
