Changing values in Lookup Tables?

Again, Gary/Dale, I'm going to run something by you again that is in
your wonderful Administrators book which is somewhat related an
earlier question I had.

On page 271, it states that "At the time you select the Lookup Table
option, make sure that you select the correct Lookup Table. If you
select the wrong Lookup Table and then save the new custom field, you
cannot change the Lookup Table at a later time. Instead, you must
delete the custom field and create a new one using the correct Lookup
Table".

What I think I've found in our POST-SP1 Project Server installation,
is that if you HAVE selected the right Lookup Table, the values in the
Lookup Table can be changed and they are automatically reflected in
the custom field value inside the project. That is, it appears that
I can actually add additional layers of management or even make
certain groups peers after the fact in the "Performer" Lookup Table if
the organization changes and when you go back into the Project w/
Project Pro, the value for the custom field reflects the new
"Performer" structure.

Do you guys agree with this or am I opening up a can of worms?

Thanks,
Andy Novak
