Changing Work day from 8h

Bob

Hi,

I have changed in the default calendar (used by all resources) the hours in
each day to 7 hours. When I go into Task Usage or Resource usage is still
shows 8 hours on each day. How do I get it to change all resources
allocations to be 7 hours instead of 8 hours a day.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
Changing the base calendar is step 1. The second step is to go to,
Tools/Options/Calendar tab and change the options to match your 7 hour
day. While you at it, hit the help button on the options window for
useful information on how the calendars and the options interact.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick replies.

The #5 FAQ helped. I didn't realize that the working hours (start and end
time) drive the hours per day and not the options hours per day field.

By updating all the weekday start and end times to make for the appropriate
working day hours this resolved my issue.

You're welcome, Bob :)

But a word of caution. You should seldem, if ever, enter Start and Finish
dates in Project. If you do, Project will create constraints which could
severely limit the flexibility that you could have. Always enter Durations
and use the Precedence links to drive the Start/Finish dates.
