Characters jump to another line while typing.

While typing, all of sudden my position will change and the character will
junp to a previous line. I am on windows xp and it is happening as I type
now. HELP!!!!!!
Have a changed a setting or something?

If you're using a laptop computer, you might be accidentally brushing part of
your hand on the touchpad while you're typing. Try reducing the touchpad
sensitivity setting.

Another possible reason is that you have a microphone connected to the
computer and you have speech recognition enabled in Word. Try turning off
the microphone or turning off speech recognition in Word.

I've found that brushing the touch pad isn't the only thing that will
cause this. On my laptop the cursor will jump when the fan turns on
(and cause the window to lose focus) and occasionally just the
vibration of the keys will cause the same to happen. My only
workaround is to use an external keyboard. <sigh>
