Hi,

Does anyone have an example of how to dreate a chart that
shows the following:

Average number represented by a line going across the
middle.

Columns across the bottom rising above or below the
average line.

This is pretty easy to do. Create an additional series of data in the
spreadsheet called Average. In each cell of that series enter a formula
that calculates the average for the data set. (Obviously, each cell would
have the same result.) Create a column chart using the wizard that includes
both the original data set and the new average series. After the chart is
completed, click on a column that is part of the average series. Use the
menus to change the selected series to a line chart.

Other things to consider.

- Add data labels for the average line then click on each label individually
and delete all but the last one.
- Format the line to be thicker to really stand out.
