Charts in 2003 Powerpoint won't convert to edit

I am working creating charts in Powerpoint - Microsoft Graph object won't
convert graphs back so they can be edited once they are created. I didn't use
to have this problem and am not sure what is causing it.

That's where I was going wrong! I was right clicking instead of double
clicking on the graph. I do very little graphs in Powerpoint and didn't
remember what I needed to do. Thank you so much.
