Checkbox options

I would like to put a list of items in a document where the user can click one of the checkboxes to place a tick indicating their preference.

I know I can do this in a form but that then makes the rest of the document uneditable in a freeform manner. Is there any other way.

Kris,

There are some checkbox AUTOTEXT entries and toggle macros in the several of
the FAX template that ship with word. You can use the organizer to copy
these over to your document template.

What you do is to put in a Continuous Section Break (Insert", "Break")
between the "editable" and "uneditable" sections of your document and
remember to lock only the uneditable section (one with checkboxes). When
you click "Tools", "Protect Document", a dialog box will open asking you to
"Protect for forms" and choose which sections to lock.
