clicking on window makes it disappear

Right now, I am working with 3-4 workbooks with 1-4 windows open for each. If I go away from Excel & come back & click on the window I'm working on, it will disappear behind all the other windows. Selecting it from the Window menu does not retrieve it, in fact, it may already be selected. Clicking on other windows makes them disappear also. Sometimes the Bring to Front command will help.

Are you by any chance using spaces? If so, don't. Office 2008 is
incompatible with Spaces.

Also, a friend just had this problem, and she found it to be the "hide" function in that spreadsheet document. It would disappear whenever she clicked on the "format" palette. I don't know that much about Macs, but maybe this will help you.
