Client update messes up website

Michelle

I created a site using FP 2002 for a client who wants to
be able to manke updates herself. Every time she tries
to update a page, the whole site gets messed up. I even
walked her through the import web wizard to make sure she
did that correctly. I can't figure this one out.

Here is the site I did
http://www.carrellcustomwelding.com

and here is the site she did (I had her publish it to a
folder on the wesbite)
http://www.carrellcustomwelding.com/missy/

She made a change to the showdates.htm page and the whole
site is screwed up.

Any help is greatly appreciated! My email is fullhart

Thanks!

My recommendation is that if your client insists on making changes to
his/her web site, you make sure that the client assumes responsibility for
any damage caused by his/her actions. Not only will this absolve you of any
responsibility which, by rights, doesn't belong to you, but it will also
increase your personal revenue, when you charge your client for doing the
work.

I'm almost finished working on something that will allow just this. the
client can update stuff, upload pictures and all the rest but won't need
FrontPage and will have less opportunity to mess stuff up:

it's not complete but it may be a good solution for your situation.

The email address on this posting is a "black hole". I got tired of all the

The keyword here was "import"
You need to teach your client to "Publish" the site to their machine and then make changes and then
"Publish" back to the server.
