Clip Art won't show up in word document

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Created a word document and inserted a clip Art picture that I had downloaded from Microsoft. When I inserted the clip art, it didn't show up on the document, but I was able to see it in Print Preview. I needed to tweak it, but wasn't able to do so. I sent it to my work address to see if it was on the document and it was & I was able to resize. What's up with this?

On the system where it didn't display check Word> Preferences - View to see
if the box is checked for Drawings and that the box is unchecked for Image
Placeholders.

When I insert an image, I can see it, and it prints. As soon as I move the image around to where I want it, it disappears from the print preview and the printed version although it is still visible on screen. I have checked the information provided above, changed settings and am still having the same problem. Could you help?

Where are you moving it TO? Is it still on the page? Or under something?

I'm just moving it within the document for better placement. I've already tried "bring all to front, etc. I drop the graphic in - it's there. I move it just a smidge, and it disappears from the print preview and when printing. I've checked a bunch of settings, etc. Any thoughts?

No sensible thoughts. There's a lot of things it "could" be.

I do not use floating graphics, because they cause too much trouble.

I create a blank paragraph, and place the graphic on that, set as "Inline
with text". I then use the paragraph properties to position the graphic.

That always works.

In your case, I have nothing sensible to suggest.

I assume you are using the cursor keys to move it? You cold try opening the
"Properties" and altering the measurement values: see if that makes a
difference. For example: Alter the "Right" measurement by a few points.

Cheers

Do you happen to be positioning it near the top of the page?
