Clip Gallery 5

I am still using Clip Gallery 5 because I like its features and I have
invested so much time to creating a huge collection of clip from Microsoft
and other sources. My first question is should I change? Is there a way I
can keep my collection?

My second question is why does the "find artistic style" feature not work
with most Microsoft clip art? When I look for a clip art, very often I want
to use the same artistic style for most graphics in my design. This would be
a great feature if it worked more often. The clip art has an artistic style
in the website. How can I call it up in Clip Gallery 5?

Clip Gallery and Clip organizer are very similar.... Clip Gallery launches
when you choose to insert clips in MS Office versions before Office XP,
Which was first to use Clip Organizer, When you insert clips in Office XP or
2003 the clips are searched and inserted using the clipart task pane or you
can launch Clip organizer as a standalone. Clip Organizer uses a different
file format (MPF) for downloading clips, which is not compatible with Clip
Gallery

You can import the clips from Clip Gallery into Clip Organizer but If you
import clips into Clip Organizer you need to add keywords manually for the
clips to searchable. To use clipart from Clip Gallery the easiest solution
is to use your old office CD and do a custom setup to install just Clip
Gallery. To use Clip Gallery in Office XPor 2003 Go Insert | Object | choose
Microsoft Clip Gallery from the list to launch Clip Gallery

You can not search styles in Clip Gallery. You can search styles in Clip
Organizer But you need to enter this format "@Style=1166" in the search box
without the quotes

Thanks Paul for shedding some light on Clip Gallery v Clip Organizer.

From what you have said, I guess I will continue to use Clip Gallery. I look
forward to a better clip art management application sometime in the future
especially one that migrates my current clip art collection including the
descriptions I have assigned to the clip art. I feel automatically showing
all clip art with a particular style is a very important feature for me.
Incidentally I like the spell checker in Clip Gallery - not having it often
slows me down.

Thanks again...Tony

I personally use both and don't find any significant differences to choose
one over the other. You can search by style in Clip Organizer entering
@Style=1166 for example in the search box. Maybe the next version of Clip
Organizer will have the spell check feature, better style search, and the
ability to migrate Clip Gallery Clips into Clip Organizer with KeyWords
intact...
