Win Xp Pro SP1
Office 2002 SP2

Pentium 2.4Ghz HT
1GB RAM

Defragged
Disk Clean up - OK
Recycle Bin - Empty
Internet Cache - Clean
Temp Folder - Empty
Clip Organizer - Compact
Video Drivers - OK (Installed when system was set up,
operating for 6 months without a problem.)

Working on Publisher files. Insert picture, Enter key
word, Search, Get results, Start to scroll through
results, Little by little, clips start to appear more
slowly until finally the program hangs and clips no
longer continue to appear, I get 'Program has stopped
responding', or have to shut it down manually.

Event Log doesn't give me any information besides 'Office

Any ideas... It's driving me crazy! I've tried everything
posted in these groups. I'm walking on eggshells. I
really need to have clip art run smoothly as every one of
my documents rely on them heavily.

Update your video driver from the website of your video card manufacturer,
making sure you get the correct driver for your video card and correct
operating system of Windows.

When I set up the system, I used the disk that came with
the card. (ATI 9600 Pro 128Mb RAM) Went to the ATI site,
downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers and installed -
Messed up the display - Rolled back the driver - Running
smooth ever since - I don't think it's a driver issue -
Happens sporadically - It will give me this problem for a
week or so and stop - smooth sailing, then it happens
again for a week. Been like this since July. Like I said,
the drivers that came sith the card seem to work fine 90%
of the time - no problems printing or running other
applications - just when using clip art in office
applications - Happens in word and PowerPoint, but I
don't use them so often. Thought it might be some issue
with the clip organizer.

Have you tried setting down the acceleration of your video driver?
This article addresses the MSO.dll which may have changed your version.

My clip organizer hangs too - it is now so bad that Word just stops when I insert clip art. I haven't found anything useful, although my system is fully up to the latest version. I am still searching for a clue
