Clipart

In my Publisher program I had on my old computer I could copy free clipart and add it to my projects within Publisher. I loved this as I was often designing invitations, scrapbooks etc for different uses. Now I cannot get my new PUblisher 2002 to add clipart from the internet. It comes up as nonsense and I would love to know what I am doing wrong. I have tried the clipboard but no success. I thought I was getting a better Publisher, but if all I can do is limited to the art within the clipart organizer, which is pitifully small, then I am at a lost and have paid for something that will do me no good. I am really upset because I loved my old publisher and all the things that could be done with it. I told everyone about it and really got a lot of praise with all the great things I produced. This program I am not happy with as of yet. As I said if I am doing something wrong PLEASE let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not copy clipart that I shouldn't use and really respect copyright laws, but I do use the free stuff that people offer for my personal use only.

From where are you trying to add the ClipArt? The Microsoft gallery, or
some other gallery?
What kind of gibberish is it giving you?
What options are you given by Edit > Paste Special?

Publisher 2002 came with a media disk in most instances, do you have it? If you do
insert the disk and click install.
The nonsense you are getting is probably because your cache is full, in IE, tools,
Internet Options, delete files.
You can only copy from the Office ClipArt site if you have Windows 2000 or Windows
XP.
The Clip Art and Media, Templates, and Training Web sites on Microsoft Office Online
use a downloaded Microsoft ActiveX control to download and open selected media clips,
templates, and training practice files automatically, in the correct file format and
location.

Note To download the ActiveX control, you must have administrative rights on the
computer that you are using. If you're not sure whether you have administrative
rights on your computer, contact your system administrator.
To use the ActiveX control to download media clips, templates, and training practice
files:
You must be running Microsoft Windows 2000 (Service Pack 3) or later editions of
Microsoft Windows.
You need Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.01 or later.
The Internet zone settings on your computer must be set to Medium, or if your
Internet settings are set to High, the Microsoft Office Online Web site must be
listed as a trusted site on your computer.
Adding a Web site as a trusted site can have security implications. For more
information, you can read about URL Security Zones.
To add the Microsoft Office Online Web site to your list of trusted sites:
On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, and then click the
Security tab.
Click the Trusted Sites icon, and then click Sites.
Clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.
In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type http://office.microsoft.com, and then
click Add.
Click OK twice.
Note If you came to the Clip Art and Media, Templates, or Training Web site
through a URL other than http://office.microsoft.com, you may have trouble using the
ActiveX control. Go back and access the site through http://office.microsoft.com, and
try using the control again.

If you still have the old Gallery on your computer, in Publisher, insert, object,
scroll down to Microsoft Clip Gallery.
