Cloned to new drive-Now problems

M

MG.

Hello to all. I just upgraded my HDD from a 20GB to an 80GB Maxtor drive.
Using the "MaxBlast" software, I copied the entire contents of the drive to
the new drive and made it bootable. When I first started Word from my
Office 2003 suite, I got a small Windows installer box, and then the error
message "An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning
properly. Run setup and select repair". When I went to do so, the message
was "This patch package cannot be opened" and some other stuff about
contacting the vendor, etc.
What happened between the old drive and the new one? I tried to uninstall
and re-install and can't do that either.
Word and Outlook both generate that message, yet they both open up.
Publisher and Excel do not for some reason.
Any help will be appreciated,
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Morey G.

I am having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!! I am still in the
process of searching the MS Newsgroups posts for a
solution and since this is the first post I've come
across that describes my problem, and since there have
been no responses indicating a solution, I'm replying (as
opposed to posting a new message) in the hopes that
someone -- ANYONE -- can help by providing a solution or
fix. (PLEASE!)

Thanks very much in advance for any help!

I upgraded my Hard drive and now I no longer have any Icons for my office 03. Also I noticed that I unable to run the Detect and repair option under the help menu. I see that alot of people have expierenced a similar problem. I find myself asking if anyone from Microsoft is monitoring these forums. If not what good will it do to post it. If anyone can help I'm all ears

Same problem here with Office XP. New MAXTOR drive, Maxblast 3 software, cloned old drive to new, boot from new, Office gets upset. Office apps still seem to run but give the same errors in the original post by MG. Add/Remove programs will not allow setup to run to make repairs. Office icons are gone. ALSO - System Restore doesn't work after Maxblast. I called Maxtor and they said it was because I cloned on the same IDE channel, and suggested I try again with the 2 drives on different channels. I did this and got the same results.

HELP!
