COMBO BOX SELECTION TO AUTO POPULATE A FORM

I have a db with a list of employees. They are broken down
into 4 trades. Each trade has certain tasks to perform
before becoming operational. When filling in the new
employees record and selecting their trade from a drop
down menu /Combobox I want the db to auto populate a form
called 'Task progress'with task list and completed box.
The 4 individual trades have a list of tasks filtered from
a main list of tasks using a query. What I want sounds
simple but then I have limited experience in databases.
Can anyone help?
