Common Resource Pool : Modifying Calendar to reflect vacation

Hi,

I noticed if I update resource calendar (of a resource in resource pool) to
reflect vacation, the changes are not getting saved. If I reopen the project
(associated with common resource pool file) it shows resource is available
during his/her vacation.

Has anyone faced same issue before? If yes, how did you resolve?

Would appreciate any pointers.

Hi spi,

When you attached the sharer file to the pool (Tools > Resource Sharing

Share Resources) did you select the option for pool takes precedence

on conflict with calendar or resource information? If you did, you will
need to open the pool file with write access to make the change.

Hi Julie,

Thanks! Apologies for the delay in the response. We resolved the issue by
directly modifying the resource file to document the vacation, i.e. by
opening resource sheet as a project plan and changing the working time
appropriately.

btw, we used the option of 'pool takes precedence' and ensured resource file
is opened with read/write privilege. Somehow, it didn't work by updating
resource sheet associated to project. May be a caching issue.
