compatability issues office xp with 2007 files

T

Tim Sidney

I have had to format and reinstall my OS (to be honest it needed it...3
years), before I did this I saved all important files...e.mails etc and have
reinstalled 64 bit vista Home Premium as opposed to the 32bit version.

I cannot locate my 2007 office cd so I installed my old office xp standard
version ...installed SP3 and downloaded the file converters from MS website.
None of my documents or e mails will open correctly, just a lot of
gobbledegook. Now my fleshy parts are up for the chop if I don't get this
sorted as my wife has some seriously important docs and mails not to mention
contacts and distribution lists....how can I get OXP to recognise the file
formats

Regards

Tim

If you used Outlook 2007, in the default format, then you require Outlook
2007 to read the data files
There is no file convertor for Outlook data files

You should be able to open 2007 format Word files
Either find your Office 2007 or buy a replacement.
Officexp, notably Outlook has issues on Vista
