completely removing 2000 with XP

I found a solution to removing Office 2000 completely with
OS's other than XP but I can't find a solution for XP. My
old Windows 2000 keeps trying to load when I have upgraded
to 2003.

All terribly confusing;
You refer to both Office2K, Win2K in the same breath.
So which o/s are you using?
Which version of Office do you wish to use?
Exactly what versions Office ie premium etc are involved?

sorry to be so confusing. My OS is XP. What happened
was, my husband got a new computer for his work and gave
me his old one. The old one had Office 2000 on it but
that was his copy that he needed to load on his new
computer. So, I had to go buy a new full version of
Office to use on his old computer which is now mine. I
uninstalled Office 2000 and installed a full version (not
upgrade) of Office 2003. Now, whenever I click on an e-
mail message in Outlook, I get a message that microsoft
Office Professsional 2000 is trying to be installed. I
have deleted every file that i could find that looked like
it might belong to Office 2000. There is a fix under
Microsoft support to remove "straggler" files and register
entries after uninstalling Office 2000 but it doesn't work
for Windows XP.
Hope that's a little clearer. i really appreciate your
time to try to help me. That's very generous of you and
all the people on this board that help others.

It could be a matter of the origonal Office2k having certain office apps
installed that were not present in yr Office2003 version
eg Office2k premium installs FrontPage Office2003 may not
Having said that have you checked

The above apply to WinXP o/s, there are other articles that apply to other
o/s
You might also check that Outlook doesnt have any rogue addins / comms
enabled.
If you are using Word as yr email format this may indicate a problem with
Word or its reg settings
Hope some of this helps
