Computer Stolen - How do I Re-Activate Office 2003 (have original

I still have the original installation disk of Office 2003, but the computer
on which it was originally installed and activated has been stolen. If I
recall right the EULA allows me to run one copy of the software on one
computer. So, I want to do that. Or sell the Office 2003, as I am quite happy
with Office XP. Except now it should be on a new computer, and the only
serial number I have on the box has already been "used" once to activate. How
do I get Microsoft to reset the software, let me reinstall and reactivate (or
sell the CD)?

Of course if the version of Office you have came with the computer, it was
probably an OEM version and the permission to use it was stolen with the
computer. Once an OEM version is installed, it is permanently tied to the
computer on which it is installed. If the CD says "For distribution with a
new PC" or the like, it is an OEM.

Collect from your insurance company for the computer and the software.
