Conditional Formatting

Is there a way I can use conditional formatting or
something similar between sheets in one workbook. I want
to compare numbers on two sheets. If the numbers are not
equal then i would like the number on sheet2 to change
color.

I tried If functions and couldn't figure it out.

You need to use a defined name to refer to the cell on the other
sheet, and then in the CF dialog, choose Formula Is and enter

=A1<>TheName
