Configuration bug in XP?

John

Anyone know a way around this problem?

Select Tools > Options > Mail Setup > Send/Receive > Edit > Account
Properties > Advanced

Check the Delivery check box and set a number of days to leave the mail on
the server. After you choose Ok and Apply on all dialogs, close Outlook,
launch Outlook, the check box is cleared. All my mail is deleted from the
server every time.

I want to leave the mail on the server for a number of days as I also check
email via webmail while on the road.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Well I found a work around but it's to work around a bug in my opinion.

I deleted all my Email accounts, (I have several), and re-configured each
one. In the "More Settings" section for each account there is a place to
set the setting there as well.

I imagine the thinking there is that individual settings supercede the
global. If this is "as designed" then there ought to be a popup or tool
tip. For a wizzard interface these settings are burried pretty deep and are
very obscure not to have a tool tip or popup.

Sorry for not including my email address here but I get enough spam <grin>.
I will look for replies in this group.
