Configuring Outlook 2003

Can anyone help me?

My Exchange server (5.5) email domain is not the same as
my Active Directory domain name. Whenever I try to open
Outlook 2003, it adds the wrong suffix to the "exchange
server name" and will not resolve (folder cannot be
opened error). The MS site doesn't appear to have any
help yet...
