Conforming to the Document Style

I use styles to control the formatting of my documents,
but if I paste in a piece of text from someone else's
document it doesn't automatically conform to the style of
my document -- it keeps its own. Is there a way I can
make the new text automatically reformat to match the rest
of the document?
