Connect Project Server 2003 to SharePoint server.

I' am using Project Server 2003 SP2.
I try to adjust Connect to SharePoint server.
When I specify URL's in a format https://servername:port all is good.
And when in a format https://servername.mydomain.com:port I receive a
error - "Project server cannot connect to the specified Web Server running
Windows SharePoint Services. Please check the HTTP protocols and the port
numbers in both URLs."
When i performing validation procedure before saving changes, all is ok.
Problem: I needing specify FQDN web server name, when i connect project
server 2003 to SharePoint server.

i have been suffering with same problem.
u got solutation.
plz send that process if u got solutation..
its very very urgent
