Connecting to VPN Mailbox!! Login Problems

Good Morning:

Here is my delema. I have a user who is trying to connect
to his outlook via VPN and keeps getting prompted for a
user name and password. He is able to authenticate the
name but every time he tries to log in he gets prompted
for the user name and password. The problem I see is that
it never asks for a domain to login to. He is part of a
workgroup at another office and has CIA installed on his
machine. I am at another location with the exact same
setup, except I am on a domain, and I can log into the VPN
and then log onto his mailbox with no trouble. I am
promted for the DOmain though when I log onto the
mailbox. Has anyone run into this problem before. Also
is there a way to not have the Username and password box
appear once you have connected to the VPN. I have got to
properties of exchange and changed it to password.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
