Connector lines don't work properly

I have Word 2002 and I notice that the connector lines in the auto shapes do
not work the same way as they do in Powerpoint or Excel. Usually if you
connecto 2 rectangles with the connector lines you can move the objects and
the lines will go with them. Is there a fix for this.
