Considering first purchase

Doug

I am looking to supply my engineers with MS Project but desire to have
connectivity between them, myself and a few others that would have hands in
the project development.

Questions are,

What version of project do I need, Standard or Professional

If Pro comes with a Proj Server CAL an Server comes with 5 CAL's, what good
are the extra CAL's doing me

If I want only internal interaction, do I need anything beyond Proj PRO and
Proj Server

The MS website is not very clear on the relationship between the assorted
versions and levels of the application.

Thanks,

Doug

Everyone who accesses the project as published on the server needs a
CAL. Users who will create and maintain the plans need both MS Project
and the CAL which comes with Project to access the server to publish the
plan. Resources and others viewing the project need a CAL as well, even
though they don't need Project and access the plan through Project Web
Access. Basically everyone visitng the server needs a CAL but only the
Project Managers who create and edit the plans need MS Project. Only
Project Pro works with the server - Project Standard is essentially for
stand-alone environments.
