contacts list corrupted

Has anyone had the issue of their contacts list becoming corrupted? I
know have different phone numbers and email addresses mixed amony my
contacts. In one instance i check the properties on an email before
sending and it has a totally different address embedded?

I have run several virus scans with no luck. I also use a palm pilot,
as this is the only thing that i can think of that would screw things up
so badly.

Anyone have any ideas?
