convert a MS Word 2003 document to a PDF

There are 2 ways:

In Word - Select File / Print and choose the Adobe PDF printer.

In Adobe - Select File / Create PDF from File

These ways are only available if you have Acrobat installed. Word has no
in-built capability to create PDF files. There are cheaper (even free)
alternatives to Acrobat, some of which are linked from the favourites page
of my web site.
