How to convert word document to xml in off 2000 and greater versions. is
there any faster method to do this ?

I think you need Office 2003 for that.

If I remember correctly, the MS-XML format is patented, so although
*technically* you can use it, there might be some *legal* problems.

XML in what schema? Faster than what?

If you want to save a Word document in Word's own XML format, then you need
Word 2003 and can then just 'save as' XML.

If you want to transform the content of a Word document into some other XML
format (XHTML Web pages for instance, or DocBook mark-up) then you may find
a 3rd party conversion tool to do the job (for example, UpCast, YAWC, X-ICE,
X2XML, W2ML). You could also look at Open Office.

You may be able to get additional information about Word and XML from the
microsoft.public.office.xml newsgroup.
