Convert printing as Acrobat

My Office XP in a Windows XP system used to allow printing a Word or a Ppt
document as a PDF. It called Acrobat up simply by "print" and then choose
Acrobat Distiller. (I have Reader 7.05 and Acrobat 5.0, all licensed.) A
month or so ago, it stopped. Now when I try to print as Acrobat it starts
normally and then freezes up. I tired reloading Acrobat 5 from the CD, but
that didn't improve things. What can I do? Thank you.

Check in support at Adobe, as its this that seems to be the problem

I have reloaded Acrobat as instructed and it made no difference. Trivial
suggestions such as "choose Distiller as the printer" have also made no
difference. I have just downloaded PrimoPDF and hope that is an answer.
