Convert Text to Table using Tabs

Virtually always when I want to convert a block of text to a table, I
want to use tabs as the delimiter. It would be nice if I could simply
highlight the text and click on the Insert Table button. Unfortunately
that method results in Word making an "intelligent decision" about
what to use as the delimiter (sometimes it chooses spaces, others
colons or / or paragraphs). Is there a way to make it always use
tabs? If I want to use something else I can always use Table |
Convert... | Text To Table and select the desired delimiter.
