Converting date to year only

Hi: I have a date -- 6/30/04 -- that I need to copy to a target cell but I
only want the target cell to retain "2004". Formatting the target cell to
YYYY doesn't solve the problem because the target cell contents must only
contain the 4 numbers "2004". Any ideas? Thanks! Wayne

=YEAR('sheet1'!A1)
in your target cell
