Converting problems Publisher into PDF

B

Brie

Every three months I create a 16 page Newsletter with Publisher. In December I bought the ACROBAT 6.0 to convert the document into a PDF file for e-mailing and the web. Since I e-mailed the PDF to some friends I can't convert any Publisher Documents into PDF anymore. Can someone help me to solve the problem

Thank yo

Brie

JL you now an Adobe Acrobat expert as well!!!

JL you are proving you do a very good job of putting both feet and elbows in
your mouth at the same time.

Brie it sounds like you are using the PDFWriter of Acrobat which is a FLAWED
FAULTY piece of trash.

To do the job properly you need to install the Adobe Generic Printer Driver
which can be downloaded from the Adobe website..
You then print to that printer driver, and take the output file and run it
through Distiller.
All the information you need is in the Adobe Acrobat HELP file.

How come ACROBAT 6.0 writer worked the first time? It is still working with word and excel.

Yes, I created the PDF and then e-mailed it to friends. I used to have the icon at the top of my window. I could just click on it and it converted my publisher document.

If I go to ADOBE ACROBAT 6 and try to open my pub. newsletter the message shows up saying: It can't open the newsletter because it is either not a supported file or it is corrupted (for example when I sent it as an attachment it wasn't decoded properly)

Thanks for your help.

Hi JL, Now I saved the newsletter as an PostScript file with Distiller. As I opened the doc I was able to right-click either the publisher doc or the post-script file and then convert it into a PDF file. Is that correct way to do it?

Wow, now that is truly amazing, seeing as Adobe never made an icon to go
into Publisher (or at least, not that I've heard about - or anyone else I've
asked)

Adobe Acrobat does not open Microsoft Publisher files.
You need to go to File > Print in Publisher and select "Adobe PDF" or
"Acrobat Distiller" from the list of printers.

Brie,

Don't try to open the Pub file in Acrobat, open it in Pub. .pdf files
open in Acrobat, .pub files open in Publisher.

Does Acro 6 include PDFWriter anymore? I'm pretty sure Acro 5 doesn't
include PDFWriter, either.

BTW, what's your problem, dude?
