cookies and scripts

I had no trouble with creating a website, I used photos and one of my own
paintings on Corel Painter for the graphics. It was only when I decided to
put a watermark in that I was refused access to the online clipart. I get the
message "cookies are disabled", then it gives instructions on "how to allow
cookies". These instructions don't work. Same thing with scripts, which are
needed for some of the pages of info provided by you guys. So I thought I
would ask in the "general publisher questions", which was apparently the
wrong thing to do, and I apologize for that. Still, I did get some helpful
answers.

You shouldn't have an issue with accepting cookies and scripts when you are
creating a website. What steps are you taking?

I am trying to put clipart into a webpage, sorry if I am being a nuisance
to
you. I suppose I should try microsoft office. I am bowing out, bye-bye.

And this applies to Publisher how?

I cannot activate the cookies and scripts. The security site tells me
they
are blocked. When I click on them it say they are allowed. When I try
to
use
clipart on line, I get: Cookies are blocked!

:

What doesn't work?

Using Pub 2000, internet explorer 6. I have enabled cookies and
scripts
in
my
security settings, safety level is medium. It does not work, cookies
and
scripting is not allowed. What do I do now?

Thanks Mary, I tried again but it still did not work. However I looked
carefully through the loooong list of "restricted sites" and found Microsoft
Office on it. I haven't a clue as to how it got there, but I have now access
to clipart on line, now I'll go back to this list and look for active
scripts.

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, click the Security tab, click the Internet
Web content zone, and then click Custom Level.
b. In the Settings box, scroll down to the Scripting section (almost to the bottom of
the list), and click Enable under Active scripting and Scripting of Java applets.
c. Click OK, and then click OK again.

Or worse yet - wait till you are making a mortgage payment, have an
education and practical experience, and STILL can't find a job that will pay
you more than minimum wage.

Geez! It really shouldn't surprise me that things like that happen. Have you
heard that one of the McDonald's is using out-sourcing for the drive-thru
windows orders? Some states have lower minimum wages than others so they
patch the call thru to a cheaper state. McDonald's claims that when
employees have to take orders over the drive-thru mic and deliver food at
the same time, they start making a lot of mistakes. So this is just an
effort to make the system more efficient. Yeah, right.

in message I guess we should move off-shore.

Did you hear about that ship some guy wants to load up with programmers and
float offshore of California...paying the programmers 21K a year to program
they're brains out for on-shore (US) companies...docking once a month in San
Diego to consult with their clients? Anyone pissed about this yet?

Tell me about it! The sad thing is that there is nothing that we can really
do about it. Until we can pay politicians more than corporations pay them,
the politicians will not listen with quite the same "enthusiasm".

I'll get off my soapbox now.

in message Double-Geez!

I thought it was weird last time I ordered at mickey-d's and the guy was
speaking totally different language than the face at the window should have
matched.

It won't be long.....
