Copy Existing Project into Template

We've recently developed a project template with the desired views, tables,
calendars, macros, maps, etc. and would very much like to take all
existing/in process projects and drop them into the new template. In
transferring, we'd like to retain all task information - including splits,
%complete, dependencies, and everything else. Is there a good way to do
this. Simple copy and paste hasn't panned out, nor have my attempts thusfar
at writing a suitable macro. Any ideas?

Hello Roadkill,

You can copy all your views, tables, calendars, macros, maps, etc. to all
existing projets via the Organizer :
From you template :
Tools / Organizer
On the right hand list you have the template views,
On the left hand list the Global.mpt (you could copy all your views, tables,
calendars, macros, maps in this Global.mpt file)
Change the Global.mpt file to an existing mpp.file (You loaded it before !)
Copy what you want from the right to the left. That's all !

Adding a note to Gerard's answer. You say you want to copy % complete.
Almost everything you say you want to include in the tmeplate makes sense
except that. A template is a device to create a NEW project file wimilar to
this one without having to re-invent the wheel. Since a new file is (should
be) created before any work is done on the new project, one should not
include any baseline or actuals - costs, % completes, start or finish dates,
etc in the template as that information only goes in after the new project
is finalized and for actuals, after work begins.
