copying a power pt pres. and music doesn't work

i created a power pt. pres. in my big computer, saved it on to a cd and put
it in a laptop. it works but the music doesn't play. when it didn't sound, i
first tried copying the songs on to the hard drive of the lap top and
inserting them into the presentation again. it still doesn't sound. i put
extra speakers on the lao top to no avail. any ideas?
