How do I add background music to slide presentations?

I have a music CD that I downloaded 1) track to a file in My Music. I then
clicked the "Insert Tab" and went down to "movies and sound" then to "sound
from file" and added the file track. It worked great, only now it won't play
the slide pres. automatically it only shows the slide I had on the screen
when I went to the "Insert Tab". The sound track plays only on that first
slide. If I switch it to auto play I get no sound. What am I missing?

I think it could be a format issue. You may need to use .wav for
powerpoint as i have heard in some cases mp3 does not work well or loop
in flash and powerpoint. If you are using music from itunes for example,
they may have sort of encription of DRM to prevent you from embedding
into powerpoint. You should use music you composed or royalty free
music. Do a search up on google. There are plenty of sites. There's this
site http://www.opuzz.com/ that has a sale now of 50% for music
downloads. For sound effects, try http://www.findsounds.com/
