Corrupt MAPISVC file

Think I have got a corrupt MAPISVC file. But how do I repair it?

In control panel, I do the following: Mail, select profile, Properties, Data
File, Add

Then, I get a window popup saying: An unknown error occurred, error code:
0x80070002

A German friend sent me an MAPISVC file but that was for using Outlook 2002.
I am using Outlook 2003 beta 2.

How can I restore that file?

rename the file to *.bak and then do a detect/repair through the add/remove
programs applet in the control panel.
