Corrupted (?) Drawing Objects in Word 2004

I

Irene Barnett

I've upgraded to 2004 and some Word Drawing objects in documents seem
to be corrupt:

In Word, the text (in text boxes) displays (and prints) as blocks,
i.e. each character is replaced by a black box equal to its size. When
I edit the drawing the text looks fine.

I have tried to fix the problem but things seem to have become even
more strange. The text became visible, but fuzzy, by changing the text
box fill from none to white (there is still a strange mark before the
first character, although not in a new text box created). The
strangest part is the text boxes now have a grey border (even though
none or white is specified) and the fill patterns in other objects
have gone hay-wire (it is difficult to explain). In fact, the
resolution of the whole drawing diminished.

Does anyone have an explanation/solution?

Thanks
Irene

Hi Irene,

If you're using Word:Mac you may want to also post
this in that newsgroup (link below) and include
information on how this affects new documents vs
ones you created in the previous version.
