cost rate table A variables cooy and paste

I have a list of human resources in the resource sheet and I have added their
base salaries into the standard rate column. I would like to add a 12.5%
increase to the standard rate effective immediately and then a 4% increase
starting january each year. I can do this by double clicking each resource
and adding new effective dates and typing the percentages. However, thsi is
very slow as I have a very large resource database. Ideally I would be able
to add the fields as solumns to teh resource sheet and copy and paste my
variables (dates & percentages) there. Although I cannot see how to do this.

Do you know a way?

Ellebelle,
Sorry, the cost rate table effective dates and rates are not available
to add as columns in any view. Only the base rate field appears (i.e.
Std Rate).

You basically have two choices. You can either continue entering the
data manually for each resource or write a VBA macro to automate the
process. I did just that for a client a couple years ago.

Hi Ellebelle,

I don't believe this is possible in Project as it stands. However, you
might get by with some vba code, in which case, try posting on the developer
newsgroup. Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups. FAQs, companion
products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web
address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm.

However, the rates you mention are not designed to be for salaries alone,
but the cost to the project of using that resource. This should include
overheads, training, holidays, sick pay etc. If you choose a representative
figure for major groups of your resources, you'll save yourself a lot of
hassel, and your budgetting will be much more realistic.
