Sylvie,

The answer to your question depends on which version of Access you are
using. Can you please advise?

Also, it is a much more normal requirement to output a report to a PDF file.
Can you say why a form rather than a report?

Hey Steve
Thank you for your answer. I am using Access 2007. If i create a report i
need to create new fields in the table (which i don't want to do) for users
to be able to fill out the blank memo fields on the report. but since i don't
need to keep this information on the DB, how can i do that? Currenlty, if i
enter text on the memo field in a report and save or print it, it won't show

Sylvie,

If I understand you correctly, you have unbound (i.e. not linked to any
table field) controls on a form, where you enter some information, and you
want that information included in what is printed out, but after that can be
discarded and does not need to be saved in the database. Is that right?

If so, you can put equivalent unbound textboxes on your report, and,
assuming the form in question will still be open at the time that the report
is printed, you can reference the value of the form textboxes in the Control
Source property of the report textboxes, using syntax such as:
=[Forms]![NameOfForm]![NameOfTextbox]

not.

These newsgroups are provided by Microsoft for FREE peer to peer support.
There are many highly qualified individuals who gladly help for free. Stevie
is not one of them, but he is the only one who just does not get the idea of
"FREE" support. He offers questionable results at unreasonable prices. If he
was any good, the "thousands" of people he claims to have helped would be
flooding him with work, but there appears to be a continuous drought and he
needs to constantly grovel for work.

A few gems gleaned from the Word New User newsgroup over the Christmas
holidays to show Stevie's "expertise" in Word.

Word 2007 ..........
In older versions of Word you could highlght some text then go to Format -
Change Case and change the case of the hoghloghted text. Is this still
available in Word 2007? Where?
Thanks! Steve

I am designing a series of paystubs for a client. I start in landscape and
draw a table then add columns and rows to setup labels and their
corresponding value. This all works fine. After a landscape version is
completed, I next need to design a portrait version. Rather than strating
from scratch, I'd like to be able to cut and paste from the landscape
version and design the portrait version.

How do you protect the document for filling in forms?

One of my favourites:

(The original poster asked how to sort a list and stevie offered to create
the OP an Access database)
Yes, you are right but a database is the correct tool to use not a
spreadsheet.

Not at all. If it's just a simple list then a spreadsheet is perfectly
adequate...

I think your latest blurb is an improvement over what you've used in the
past.

Sung as closely as possible to the tune "Chain of Fools"

Food Chain

It starts with a plant at the bottom of the sea,
something green and slimy.
A free lunch for the water flea,
house salad at the bottom of the sea.

Up swims a shrimp and eats that flea,
maybe gets lucky, and he eats two or three.
But that mighty sardine is the shrimp's downfall.
When it hits my cracker, I'm eatin' 'em all...

'cause I'm the king, I'm the king...
king of the food chain.

Big black bass has got to watch his back,
lookin' out for a shark attack.
But that shark will score, you know that he will...
only to wind up on my grill.. Whoa-ooah.

(background) Hear the king yell.
Come on, baby. Ring my dinner bell.
(background) Red snapper, calamari, northern pike
You know I never met a meal I didn't like,
'cause I'm the king
(background) He's the king.
I'm the king.
(background) King.
King of the food chain.
(background) King of the food chain, king of the food chain.
I'm the king.
(background) He's the king.
I'm the king.
(background) King.
King of the food chain.
(background) King of the food chain, king of the food...
Clam fritters, clam chowder, oysters on the half shell,
grouper fingers and she-crab soup...
fish sticks, bread sticks, hush puppies, devil dogs,
ring dings, mallow bars, cafe latte.
(background) Food chain--food chain--food chain--food chain,
I'm talkin' about food.
(background) Food chain--food chain--food chain--food chain
It's the way it be.
(background) Food chain! Food chain! Food chain! Food chain! Food... chain.
It a food chain with me.
(background) Food! Food! Food! Food! Food... chain.
You know, It starts with a plant
at the bottom of the sea,
works its way up to big ole me.
And it's the way that nature does her thing,
and nature has declared that I'm the king.
(background) Yes, he's the king.
I'm the king.
(background) He's the king.
King.
(background) King of the food chain.
King of the food chain.
King of the food chain.
(background) He's the king.
I'm the king.
(background) He's the king.
King.
(background) King of the food chain.
I'm king of the food chain.
(background):
Food chain, chain, chain. Chain of food.
Food chain, chain, chain. Chain of food.
Food chain, chain, chain. Chain of food.
Food chain, chain, chain. Chain of food.
Food chain, chain, chain. Chain of food.
