Creating a jpg or gif from a word doc

How do you convert an image created in a word document to its own gif or jpg
file?

Save the document as HTML. The graphics are saved separately, as GIFs, into
a sub-folder called 'Files for ...'

My preference would be to to copy the image. (You might have to ungroup a
series of images to do this.) Then paste the copied image into a graphics
editor( e.g. Microsoft Photo Editor, IrfanView freeware ) and use the
graphics editor to save the picture as an image file.
