Creating a logo

Trish

I need to create a couple of logos. What is the best application to use,
and how can I then store it as a bmp file. Is this the best way?
Basically I need to create and save this file, so that I can then use it in
Word, or Excel, or PowerPoint etc. I thought a bmp file was probably the
answer, but (1) I don't know how to do it, and (2) you experts can probably
suggest the best way. The logo may include clipart or drawing. Thanks in
advance.

Hi Trish

You need a graphics program. At best, use something like Photoshop or Corel
Draw or Paint Shop Pro. At worst, use Paint, which comes free with Windows.

A bmp probably isn't the best format for a logo. If the logo contains
largely blocks of colour, use a gif. If it contains gradients, or part of a
photograph, use a jpg (also known as jpeg). In either case, you can use png,
but this is not a format that is yet universally usable. Or try saving your
logo in all these formats, and choose the best one.

In any case, it's a good idea to create the logo as large as you are ever
likely to use it, and then reduce its size for real-life use.

Hope this helps.
